Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2017 - PwC & ULI Report
I'm pleased to provide the Annual Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) and Urban Land Institute (ULI) Report on upcoming and emerging trends in the Canadian and American Real Estate markets.
Key trends that the report outline are:
- Mixed-use developments that combine residential and retail components are gaining popularity and demand in the largest markets. With the addition of improved public transit infrastructure, may developers are moving towards mixed-use communities which allow for users to move outside of the expensive and populated core while still satisfying their demands.
- On the residential/multi-family side, market and geo-political factors have increased the trend of renting vs. owning which has created new opportunities for developers.
- Technology and sustainability continue to be large factors that are changing the way in which developers build as tenants and users are demanding more efficient, greener and flexible work and living spaces.
- Lastly, political events south of the border will likely play a large role in policies and programs across the continent.
